Olivia Rose Smith, 13, of Holland Patent was formally crowned Miss Mohawk Valley's Outstanding Teen during the Miss Mohawk Valley Scholarship Pageant on January 25. Olviia Rose is a student at Holland Patent Middle School and dances at Dance 10 Studio. She focuses on tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, ballet en pointe, and lyrical. Smith also plays the piano and viola in addition to singing. Olivia Rose Smith is a member of her school's swim team and performs in theatrical productions.
Olivia Rose was the winner of the 2014 Youth Talent Showcase where she performed an upbeat tap dance to the song "Booty Swing." The talent showcase determined who would become Miss Mohawk Valley's Outstanding Teen based on those eligible with the highest score. During her year she will make appearances throughout the Mohawk Valley, promoting her platform "Making Time For Family" which encourages people to spend time with family instead of being wrapped up in other distractions.
Kimberly Sargalis, 14, of Johnstown was crowned Miss Mohawk Valley's Outstanding Teen during a showcase held Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The show was hosted by Miss Mohawk Valley, Courtney Sheridan who entertained the audience and residents along with last year's teen winner, Emily Stegeland of Gloversville. Sargalis will represent the Mohawk Valley at Miss New York's Outstanding Teen Pageant in Staten Island next June. During her year she will make appearances throughout the Mohawk Valley and promote a platform of prevention and awareness of bullying.
